I am a designer, painter and musician, and I come from a family of artists, creative types, musicians and improvisers. I started designing for myself years ago when I was performing with my first band. I went from cut and paste flyers at the photocopy shop to designing our first CD. Since we couldn't afford a designer, and I'd just gotten a computer at the time, that CD design became my first real print project: a total sink or swim event. Swim I did. I continued to design for the band, and expanded to web design as time went on. I continued to get more and more requests for design, and so here I am.

I am passionate about composition, beauty, symmetry and asymetry, sleek, sometimes stark simplicty, and am absorbed by color. I prefer, and rely on, happy accidents and what springs from improvising and adapting to what is at hand. I'm a from scrtach kinda gal, so I photograph, scan, paint, draw or otherwise create all the raw images I use (or commadeer my husband's formidable photo talents). There are also many photos on my site that I have manipulated, and that have been supplied by clients and taken from their promotional materials.

I've created a series of original digial art works that became posters, postcards, and large glicee prints on canvas. I paint large abstract, swirly, big-texture works on big, big canvases, which can be seen by visiting Art by Misha. I've released several CDs with two bands, sung on ther artists' releases, I continue to make and record my own music, and sing classical pieces.
